We've started solids. Rice cereal, he wasn't a huge fan of the stuff, but then again, it's been a couple weeks since he's had any. Bananas, green beans, sweet potatoes, and peaches have all been hits. It use to take about 20+ minutes for him to eat, but now we can usually get the job done in under 10.
We are trying to establish a set nap schedule. He usually tires in the morning, anywhere between 8:30-10:30 and will take about a 2 hour nap. If we miss this morning nap, he will usually take a longer 3+ hour nap in the afternoon, around 1:00. Otherwise, he takes a shorter nap around 1:00. Really, he is an opportunistic napper, catching a few zzz's whenever the opportunity presents itself.
Mommy is back to work in the mornings, which means the boys and Bailee go to Nana's house. William absolutely loves this routine, as does Bailee. MeeMoo has no complaints either. Nana's house is slowly but surely collecting tons of toys for the boys.
Matthew is a star sleeper at night. He only gets up once, usually around 1:30, nurses and is right back to sleep. Last night was his first night in his crib. I'm not going to lie, our room felt a little empty without him. But, he adjusted, no problem.
He loves his jumperoo right now, and without fail will jump himself to sleep. There have been countless times I've left the room only to come back to him fast asleep, still bouncing.
Matthew has become more aware of Bailee and lights up whenever he sees her and giggles with delight if she lets him pet her. Bailee is one lucky girl.
William is still in love with is little brother and I rely heavily on his help with keeping Matthew entertained, getting diapers, towels, change or clothes, toys, you name it. The other day, while I took a shower, William had pulled his step stool to the side of the pack and play and was standing reading to Matthew. Before naptime, when he gets up from a nap, and before bedtime, William will give Matthew a huge hug, big kiss, and "night MeeMoo." I love this and hope it never ends.
Tomorrow we have our official 6 month well-child check and I'm curious to see just how big our big chunka monk has gotten!
