6 Months

Mr. Matthew is 6 months old and quite the charmer. I don't think we have ever gone out and not received a compliment on how cute he is, what a sweet smile he has, etc. The kid is a little charmer and I think he knows it. His smile could melt anyone's heart!

We've started solids. Rice cereal, he wasn't a huge fan of the stuff, but then again, it's been a couple weeks since he's had any. Bananas, green beans, sweet potatoes, and peaches have all been hits. It use to take about 20+ minutes for him to eat, but now we can usually get the job done in under 10.

We are trying to establish a set nap schedule. He usually tires in the morning, anywhere between 8:30-10:30 and will take about a 2 hour nap. If we miss this morning nap, he will usually take a longer 3+ hour nap in the afternoon, around 1:00. Otherwise, he takes a shorter nap around 1:00. Really, he is an opportunistic napper, catching a few zzz's whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Mommy is back to work in the mornings, which means the boys and Bailee go to Nana's house. William absolutely loves this routine, as does Bailee. MeeMoo has no complaints either. Nana's house is slowly but surely collecting tons of toys for the boys.

Matthew is a star sleeper at night. He only gets up once, usually around 1:30, nurses and is right back to sleep. Last night was his first night in his crib. I'm not going to lie, our room felt a little empty without him. But, he adjusted, no problem.

He loves his jumperoo right now, and without fail will jump himself to sleep. There have been countless times I've left the room only to come back to him fast asleep, still bouncing.

Matthew has become more aware of Bailee and lights up whenever he sees her and giggles with delight if she lets him pet her. Bailee is one lucky girl.

William is still in love with is little brother and I rely heavily on his help with keeping Matthew entertained, getting diapers, towels, change or clothes, toys, you name it. The other day, while I took a shower, William had pulled his step stool to the side of the pack and play and was standing reading to Matthew. Before naptime, when he gets up from a nap, and before bedtime, William will give Matthew a huge hug, big kiss, and "night MeeMoo." I love this and hope it never ends.

Tomorrow we have our official 6 month well-child check and I'm curious to see just how big our big chunka monk has gotten!

Family Photo Shoot

Back in February, we decided it was about time we had some family photos taken.

New Scooter!

William very much loved Owen's scooter he got for his birthday and tried his hardest to monopolize its use. Whenever Owen was using it, William would politely go up and say "excuse me" and then expect Owen to give it up so he could use it.

Well, today Nana and Grandpa surprised William with a scooter of his own. He couldn't be happier!

I Love this Face!

Fire Worker!

After William's very brief nap, he exclaimed he wanted to be a "fire worker." What is a "fire worker" you ask? Well, it's obviously a fireman doing construction work. William helped Daddy with the construction of our headboard.

Day of Birthday Fun!

Our St. Patty's day consisted of 2, yes 2, birthdays!

First stop was Ms. Mia's 3rd birthday, which was an absolute blast. All the kids got to go on a pony ride and we are so proud of our William who patiently waited his turn in the rain. Finally, it was William's turn to ride Thunder. I think this was the highlight of his day! Aside of course from singing Happy Birthday and clapping at the end, eating at a party table with all the other kids, and eating cake. This kid loves birthdays! As we left the party, William was sure to enthusiastically wish Mia a Happy Birthday, again, say thank you to Sean and Yuri, and yell "bye everyone!"

Next stop, was Mr. Owie Bear's 4th birthday! William loved playing with his cousins and was glued to Owen's hip, even trying to help blow out Owen's candles. Needless to say, William was not a happy camper when it came time to go home. But, we were all in need of recharging our batteries!

OJAI!

After running around Disneyland, we decided to spend the remainder of our trip hanging out in Ojai. No more running for us! William loved, loved, loved being at Aunt Betsy's house and was absolutely inseparable from his cousin Ava. Seriously, anywhere Ava went, William was right by her side. We loved seeing our family, spending time in the sun, and just relaxing. We can't wait for our next trip!

DISNEYLAND!

Our much anticipated trip to Ojai and Disneyland came and went way to quickly! The day after arriving in Ojai, we hit the road for Disneyland. However, the trip didn't exactly start smoothly. While picking up Boomie, William decided to throw a fit. What was the fit about? I couldn't tell you. Poor Matthew also decided to throw a fit. So there I was, not even on the road yet, wedged between the two car seats, unsure of what to do and close to tears myself. After a cooling off period for me, Matthew fed and happy, and of course a happy William, we hit the road.

A little over 2 hours later, we arrived in the happiest place on earth! Both boys were put in their strollers, and we were off and running.

Our luck, our first day was on Leap Day, February 29th, and Disneyland decided, for the first time ever, to open the park for 24hours. The crowd during the day wasn't horrible. The evening was a whole other story. I have never seen so many people! The line into Disneyland stretched all the way to the entrance to California Adventure. The security lines from Downtown Disney and the buses was incredible. The ticket window lines were insane. So, we opted to return to our hotel for the evening. With two little ones, that type of crowd just isn't worth it. Walking to our hotel, there was an endless sea of people, cars were backed up all the way onto I-5. It was nuts!!!

We loved all 3 days, and the days after Leap Day were not as crowded!!! We learned William is not a fan of 3-D movies (we had to leave The Muppets Show early), nor is he a fan of Pirates of the Caribbean. Any line with a 10 minute or less wait was for us. Anything over 10 minutes was asking for trouble. William didn't really understand the wait your turn concept. We were thankful Boomie was there with us. It's amazing what another set of hands can do. Plus, William absolutely loved having her with us! He insisted Boomie push his stroller at all times.

When it was time to leave, we were hit with 2 blowouts by Matthew, William pooping, traffic, and melt downs. We were in the car for well over 5 hours. However, despite the drive back to Ojai, we are already planning our next Disney trip!
