8 Months

Seriously, where does the time go!?  Our not so little, little boy is growing up way too quickly!  Strangers seem the need to remind us that, "wow, 6 teeth already, that's really early, you know that, right?"  Yes, we do know that.  We also know what a giant he is compared to other 8 month olds.  And apparently, according to one woman in Costco, having two redheads is rare.  Matthew is our sweet baby boy who adores his big brother, lights up whenever William talks to him, loves to join in laughing whenever William laughs, and tries his hardest to be included in whatever it is William is doing.

We got Matthew a walker, and boy can he zoom around the house in that thing!  He loves chasing William.  And, he's actually a good navigator.  He can turn and redirect as needed. Not bad for a kid who just started crawling 3 days ago.

Breakfast solids seem to be his favorite meal.  He quickly gobbles down his oatmeal or rice cereal mixed with fruit and breast milk.  In the afternoon, he eats a vegetable.  He'll eat all of his vegetables, but doesn't seem nearly as excited as he is in the morning.

Sleep could be better.  We've definitely done a bit of a backslide in that arena.  We get up around 1 or 2 in the morning and then 4 or 5:45.  If 4, then luckily he goes back to sleep until about 6:30.  But, if he wakes up at 5:45, then he's up.  I like to call it Daddy and MeeMoo bonding time.  Jon will take MeeMoo downstairs while William and I try to sleep a little longer.

We are wearing 12-18 month clothing, and those seem to be getting a little snug.  Hopefully with this new crawling, he will slow down his growth.  I just can't seem to keep up with cycling out the outgrown clothing.

William is a huge help these days playing with Matthew, helping change his diaper, and trying to comfort him when he's crying.  William's new nickname for him is BoBo.  I have no idea where he comes up with these names, but I love it.  I'm Momio (pronounced moe-me-o).

William is tackling potty training like a champ, but that is a post for another day.

We love our Matthew, aka MeeMoo, Moo, Mooser, Moosie Moosie, and now BoBo!
